ABOUT RYAN

Ryan Hanson is a Senior GIS and Data Analyst specializing in GIS, analytics, and data-driven decision support. He currently works in the City of Memphis Office of Performance Management, where he helps the City and its partners use data, analytics, and technology to improve decision-making.

From 2006–2020, Ryan served as GIS Projects Manager with the University of Memphis Sparks Bureau of Business and Economic Research, where he led geospatial research projects supporting economic and community development initiatives.

Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences, an M.S. in Business Administration, and an M.A. in Geography from the University of Memphis. His work focuses on transforming complex data into actionable insights through GIS, analytics, automation, and visualization to support better planning and decision-making.
