ABOUT RYAN

Ryan Hanson is a researcher and consultant who specializes in geospatial data science. He currently works at the City of Memphis in the Office of Performance Management. From 2006-2020, he worked at the University of Memphis in the Sparks Bureau of Business and Economic Research as a GIS Projects Manager. He also attended the University of Memphis, where he earned a Ph.D. in Earth Sciences, an M.S. in Business Administration, and an M.A. in Geography.

Dr. Hanson’s work is focused on GIS mapping and spatial data analysis. His research interests relate to economic development, demographics, public health, real estate, and other urban issues.
